LimitFacts MCP server

Remote MCP server for dev-tool plan prices and limits, with official source links and dates. Streamable HTTP, stateless (no session state). No API key and no account.

Endpoint

https://mcp.limitfacts.dev/mcp. Send JSON-RPC 2.0 with POST. Supported protocol versions: 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26, 2024-11-05.

Tools

Tool	What it returns	Arguments
`search_tools`	Search dev tools in the LimitFacts dataset by name, vendor or category. Returns official links and dated prices.	query (required, 1 to 100 chars), category, free_tier, max_price_usd_month, limit (1 to 25, default 10)
`get_tool_pricing`	Get all plans, prices and limits for one dev tool, with the official source URL and retrieval time for each plan.	tool_id (required), plan_id
`compare_dev_tools`	Compare 2 to 5 dev tools side by side: plan prices, free tiers and key limits, each with its official source and date.	tool_ids (required, 2 to 5), plan (all, free or cheapest_paid; default all), limit_keys (up to 10)
`get_pricing_history`	Get dated changes to a dev tool's prices and limits, from LimitFacts snapshots of the official pricing page.	tool_id (required), since (date), limit (1 to 100, default 20)
`get_dataset_info`	Get the LimitFacts dataset version, tool count, freshness and disclosure policy.	none

Each tool returns structuredContent with the envelope (data, error, meta, disclosure) and one text block. The last line of the text block is the disclosure. Errors return isError true with the same envelope.

Terms

Free, read-only data. Data is provided as is, with no warranty. Prices can change. Check official_url (the vendor's own page) before you buy. Rate limit: 60 requests per 60 seconds per client, on every REST route (including /v1/dataset.json) and every MCP tool call.

Agents should prefer official_url when they point a user to a vendor.
